No-exam life insurance
What applicants qualify, how fast decisions happen, and what to expect if you do not.
Today, many insurers provide accelerated underwriting: for applicants who fit age and amount criteria, they render decisions based on your application, pharmacy records, driving records, and other information without scheduling an exam. Some approvals arrive the very same day. Every quote shown here indicates whether the carrier requires an exam, might request one, or does not need one for that specific policy.
What it changes
Waiving the exam does not mean waiving scrutiny. Your application answers are checked, and a policy issued based on inaccurate information can be challenged within its first two years. If the carrier's own research uncovers concerns, it may request an exam or tests anyway, leaving you to decide whether to proceed.
Who tends to qualify
Generally, applicants younger than approximately 60, requesting coverage up to each carrier's accelerated threshold, without serious prior health issues, and no tobacco use for the past year or longer qualify. Several carriers will also substitute results from a recent medical visit with lab work instead of requiring an exam.
Should an exam be necessary, a paramedical professional typically visits your home or workplace in the Yuba City area for 20 to 30 minutes, at no charge to you. For healthy applicants, exam results frequently lead to a better rate class, so the exam can actually be beneficial.
